We can print a wide range of filament types, and the main differences come down to strength, flexibility, heat resistance, and ease of printing. PLA is the easiest—great for beginners, low temp, clean prints, but not very heat-resistant. ABS is stronger and more heat-resistant but harder to print (needs enclosure and can warp). PETG sits in the middle—stronger than PLA, easier than ABS, and more flexible, making it good for functional parts. TPU is flexible and rubber-like, ideal for things like phone cases or gaskets, but it prints slower. Then you’ve got specialty filaments like carbon fiber-infused (very strong and stiff but abrasive on nozzles), silk PLA (for shiny looks), and nylon (extremely tough but needs high temps and dry storage). So the “best” filament really depends on what you’re making—PLA for simple models, PETG for durability, ABS/nylon for high strength, and TPU for flexibility.
